TAMURI Program
- Strengthen the capacities of emerging initiatives and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) through an incubation methodology
- Designing economic models for the sustainable development of CSOs and new initiatives
- Integrate actors into sustainable thematic network dynamics
The project targets a total of 500 associations and/or emerging initiatives, representing an estimated 166,000 beneficiaries of the program in the prioritized municipalities of the 5 target regions in Morocco:
Casablanca-Settat; Oriental; Souss-Massa; Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima; Beni Mellal-Khénifra
At the end of the program 100 CSOs will receive financial support from the European Union.
Eligibility
- Locality and thematic criteria
- The headquarters of the organization
- have a legal formalization (formal associative status)
- Prove that it has existed for at least one year
- Present references from partners, donors or beneficiaries who will constitute supporting documents.
- Present references from partners, donors or beneficiaries as supporting documents (CV of the project leader(s), statement of social action objectives, references of beneficiaries or partners if available)
Program Agenda
Activities
Preparatory activities with the establishment of the project monitoring committee, the updating of the mapping of CSOs, and the identification of physical spaces.
Activities related to the process of needs identification, strategic planning of the strengthening, conceptualization and development of a toolkit, and the awarding of the grant.
In parallel, training and support will be provided for capacity building, beneficiaries will be integrated into networks and will have the opportunity to practice collaborative work, accompanied by peer associations.
The development of a service offer that includes a tailored path for the development of a core group of initiatives that will consolidate as service providers for the associative fabric in the 5 targeted regions
Creatively identify models that will allow them to obtain income and access more sources of funding
Hackathons
- 2 days per region
- 50 to 100 actors/associations per region
- In addition to the 30 virtual hackathons organized every 6 months, two physical hackathons per region will be organized: one at the beginning of the program and another at the end of the program
In addition to the themes of equality, environment and youth, the priority themes of each region are identified during the Hackathons in a participatory manner. In total there will be 15 thematic networks that will be strengthened, around the thematic axis chosen for each cohort.
A networking event for the beneficiaries will be organized each week.
Strategic Plan
The program includes the development of a strategic plan tailored to CSOs and new initiatives in termes of institutional, functional, sectoral and thematic capacity building.
The Strategic Plan is a planning and monitoring tool for all capacity building activities (training, incubation, coaching and networking).
This Strategic Plan will capitalize on our expertise and on the update of the functional mapping of actors and dynamics of the associative fabric in the 5 targeted regions as well as on the results of previous EU support to Moroccan civil society, the main recommendations of the mission to formulate this action as well as all the studies already carried out which have identified the needs in terms of strategic positioning, institutional and internal governance.
It will contain the modus operandi of MCISE with the narrative detail of each activity, a detailed description of the methodology and monitoring indicators.
Bootcamps
In the middle phase, bootcamps aim to ensure a close follow-up with the organization through training sessions on matters such as social impact creation, marketing, market research, fund management etc.
The last bootcamps are meant to deepen the training with advanced marketing plan, consolidated financial statement,advocacy and communication campaign, development of an economic model to generate revenues (IGAs, public funds; private funds), support to the follow-up of the Action Plan byachieving the objectives of obtaining financial resources etc.
Incubation Toolkit
A designed toolkit for the incubation process will be available to all beneficiaries of the program as well as 5 methodological manuals of design thinkingon how toconduct market studies and design action plans.
